A petition filed by a shooter challenging her non-inclusion to participate in the Olympic selection trials was dismissed while upholding the NRAI selection criteria/policy for Paris 2024.

Reacting to the development, NRAI General Secretary K Sultan Singh said, “Our selection policy for the Olympic Games 2024 is fair and transparent. All athletes have been given a fair chance. This policy is more inclusive for qualifying shooters.

The Indian shooting team has secured a record 21 Olympic quota places out of the maximum 24 quotas for each country for the upcoming Paris 2024 Games, starting on July 26, 2024.

While rifle and pistol disciplines have each secured a maximum of eight quota places, shotgun shooters have achieved their highest ever quota placing of five.

The team will look to add to the tally of four Olympic medals (including the gold medal) that the team has won so far in this prestigious sporting event.
