New Delhi [India], The Delhi High Court on Tuesday issued notice on a petition by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) against the Lokpal order directing the CBI to investigate the party's properties and the Lokpal of India. He was prevented from taking any further steps until further notice. Date of hearing. A bench of Justice Subramaniam Prasad on Tuesday fixed May 10, 2024 for the detailed hearing of the case after hearing the preliminary arguments of senior advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing for JMM. Sibal said that both the above properties belong to the political party and not to Soren. The bench also said that the CBI is allowed to submit its report to the Lokpal in a sealed cover. However, the High Court said that no further steps would be taken by the Lokpal till the next date of hearing.Meanwhile, the court also sought response from BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, who is the complainant before the Lokpal of India in the matter. Recently, JMM moved the Delhi High Court against the Lokpal's direction for a CB probe into two properties allegedly linked to party president Shibu Soren. On March 4, the Lokpal passed an order on the complaint filed by BJP M Nishikant Dubey against JMM chief and Rajya Sabha MP Shibu Soren. This order has been challenged in the High Court. Earlier, senior advocates Kapil Sibal and Arunabh Chaudhary said that the said order is prima facie a wrong order.It has also been said that this order is bad in law and without jurisdiction. This petition has been filed by Abhishek Roy. It was also said that the order was issued without hearing the petitioner. Recently, the Lokpal passed directions to the CBI to investigate alleged benami properties linked to JMM chief Soren. Lokpal has asked the agency to investigate within six months.Disposing of the August 5, 2020 complaint filed by Dubey, the CBI has also been directed to investigate two properties belonging to JMM. Dubey had filed a complaint against Shibu Soren and his family members accusing them of being involved in corruption and amassing huge wealth. Earlier, the High Court had rejected the petition filed against the Lokpal proceedings.
