The FIR, which included allegations of physical assault and molestation in Sultanpuri, was settled amicably between the disputing parties.

Justice Anoop Kumar Mendiratta ordered that saplings at least three feet tall be planted in the jurisdiction of Sultanpuri police station.

The court order also states that the family will have to provide photographic evidence of the planting within eight weeks, which is to be supervised by the local police or State House Officer.

The judge's decision came after noting that both parties, being neighbours, intended to keep the proceedings quiet.

The court said: "The settlement will promote harmony between the parties. Also, the possibility of punishment is less in view of the amicable settlement between the parties."

The prosecution did not raise any objection to the cancellation of the FIR.

Disposing of the petition, the court said that the maintenance of the plants/trees will be done by the concerned authorities.

"In the event of non-compliance of the directions for planting trees, the petitioners will be liable to deposit a cost of Rs 25,000/- with the Delhi State Legal Services Authority," the court said.

The FIR was registered when the respondent lodged a complaint that on February 23, 2015, her neighbors attacked her with bricks and iron rods in their hands and also molested her by touching her inappropriately.

"She further alleged that when her brother and father came to her rescue, they were also assaulted," the court order copy reads.
