"The Delhi government is taking all possible steps to stop wastage of water. Today the Delhi government told the Supreme Court what steps it is taking to save water and increase water distribution efficiency. Earlier, the water released from Haryana Addressing the media, Atishi said, "Raw water passing through Yamuna river, Ravi and Beas comes to Wazirabad and Hyderpur, causing transmission loss of up to 30 per cent here in Delhi."

“However, the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) constructed the CLC (Carrier Line Channel), and the loss came down to 5 per cent.To prevent water wastage, leaking pipelines have been replaced. Not only this but a 7,300 km long pipeline has been laid. “This was done so that water can reach the unauthorized colonies in a dignified manner”, he said.

The Delhi Minister further said that 3,285 flow meters have been installed to measure water flow in Delhi.

“To measure water flow in Delhi, 3,285 bulk flow meters have been installed.Especially in South Delhi, there has been a water shortage. The water flows to Sonia Vihar through the Sonia Vihar water treatment plant. I inspected the pipeline and found that there was not even a single drop of leakage. I ensure the people of Delhi that the water being produced here It will reach homes without any major leakage."

The Delhi minister also listed the measures that the DJB is taking to prevent wastage of water.

“DJP has also formed enforcement teams to prevent wastage of water, the teams impose fines on those making unauthorized use of water.On an average, Delhi produces 1,000 to 1,005 million gallons per day (MGD), which is supplied to various. But due to water shortage the water production has reduced. We placed all the dates before the Supreme Court, which directed the Upper Yamuna River Board (UYRB) to take cognizance of the matter", he said.

Atishi also appealed to the people of Delhi to reduce water wastage as much as possible, as the national capital is grappling with water crisis due to the scorching heat and rising temperatures.
