New Delhi: The Delhi government's health department on Wednesday said it has issued an order to form a committee to examine the aspect of increasing the retirement age for doctors.

It said that the decision to form this committee has received the prior approval of the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi.

The department issued an order saying that in view of the directions issued by the High Court, a committee has been constituted to consider the matter of increasing the retirement age of doctors from 65 years to 70 years.

According to the order, the committee led by the principal secretary of services includes the secretary of health and family welfare, director of the Directorate General of Health Services, dean of Maulana Azad Medical College and MD of Lok Nayak Hospital.
