Special Judge Kaveri Baweja of Rouse Avenue Court heard the arguments of Sisodia's lawyer and the counsel appearing for CBI and ED.

The judicial custody of the AAP leader was earlier extended till April 18.

Earlier, the ED had accused Sisodia and other accused of delaying the hearing of the case.

Sisodia's bail plea was filed by his lawyer Mohit Mathur, alleging delay in completing the investigation in the case and claiming that no evidence has been found linking his client to the alleged bribe money in the case.

He had argued that it has not been proved that the alleged proceeds of crime have caused loss to the public exchequer or to private consumers. Mathur also slammed the delay in the trial, saying the Supreme Court order in which Sisodia was allowed to approach the court is six months old and the investigation should have been completed by now.

Citing the bail granted to Benoy Babu, another accused in the case, Mathu argued for Sisodia's bail, saying he no longer holds any influential position.

He also stressed that Sisodia satisfied the triple test outlined by the Supreme Court for bail, and urged a speedy trial.

Mathur further said that Sisodia's eligibility for bail is established, given the fulfillment of all necessary conditions as per the Supreme Court guidelines and the absence of any abuse of liberty.

Both ED and CBI are investigating Sisodia's role.

Earlier, the CBI counsel had told the court that the investigation was at a critical stage and releasing Sisodia on bail could hamper the ongoing investigation.
