New Delhi: Congress interim Delhi chief president Devendra Yadav on Sunday said workers were identified, shortlisted and screened before being selected for BLA-2 training at the polling station level for the Lok Sabha elections.

Booth Level Agents (BLAs) are appointed to specific polling station areas by recognized political parties to complement the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of the respective polling stations.

Inaugurating the BLA-2 training camp in Badli assembly constituency on Sunday, Yadav said that 423 BLA-2 candidates were given training on Sunday and such sessions would be conducted in 10 assembly constituencies every day in the next five days.

He said the main focus would be to take the message of Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharg and party leader Rahul Gandhi to the people and popularize the five 'Nya (Justice)' and 25 guarantees included in the party manifesto.

Yadav said the shortlisted candidates have been provided a bag containing campaign material such as the voter list of the area, Congress guarantee card, a copy of the party manifesto and campaign material of the party candidate.A monitoring system has been created to evaluate the performance of the 10 teams formed for booth management training.

Booth level teams will contact first-time voters aged 18 to ensure that they support Congress and India Bloc candidates in the Lok Sabha elections.

Yadav said first-time voters will be informed about the guarantees of the Congress and the main features of the party's manifesto and assurances given to the youth.

The training program was also aimed at attracting women and the elderly towards the Congress and India Bloc.

Yada said, women are being specifically targeted to inform about the guarantees of the Congress, including 50 per cent reservation through legal guarantees and time-bound fulfillment of other promises to empower them in every field. Is.The main focus of Congress is to strengthen the presence of the party at the booth level. He said that social monitoring teams will keep a close watch on the performance of BLA and Congress workers and detailed reports on the functioning of each booth will be given to the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee.

The Congress leader said the focus is on ensuring victory not only for the party's candidates on all seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, but also for the India Bloc candidates.

Under the seat-sharing arrangement, India Bloc constituent Congress has fielded candidates on three seats, while AAP is contesting on four seats.

Voting for seven seats in the national capital will be held in the sixth phase on May 25.
