New Delhi: Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, on Saturday alleged that her husband was a victim of a "deep political conspiracy" and urged people to unite behind him or else no educated person and honest would like to join politics.

In his first video message after the Lok Sabha results, he alleged that Kejriwal was arrested by the ED in the excise policy case based on a "false" statement of a witness and repeated allegations leveled by ED leaders. Aam Aadmi Party vs. Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy. (MSR), who was recently elected to the Lok Sabha on a TDP ticket, and his son Raghava Magunta, an accused turned approver.

She said that Kejriwal was a normal, educated, patriotic and unconditionally honest man and that no educated and honest person in the country will enter politics if the people of Delhi do not support him.

The ED arrested Arvind Kejriwal based on the statement of TDP MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy (MSR). The Telugu Desam Party is a member of the ruling NDA, she said.

She alleged that MSR changed her statement to the ED about her meeting with the Delhi chief minister after her son Raghava Magunta Reddy was arrested and denied bail.

According to Sunita Kejriwal, MSR earlier said that he had met the Delhi Chief Minister on March 16, 2021 regarding a plot of land for a charitable trust that he wanted to open in Delhi, but changed his statement on July 17, 2023, after the arrest of his son.

"In his statement to the ED, MSR said that Kejriwal asked him, in the presence of nearly 10-12 people, to enter the liquor business in Delhi and pay Rs 100 crore to the AAP. Would anyone ask for money in front of so many people? ?", asked. .

AAP leader Sanjay Singh leveled similar allegations in April.

No immediate reaction was available from the ED or MSR.

Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, even after her son's arrest, made several statements but kept repeating her earlier claim that she met Kejriwal in connection with a plot of land for his family's charitable foundation, Sunita said.

During this time, Raghav Magunta's wife, due to shock, attempted suicide and her elderly mother's health deteriorated. Seeing all this, Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy changed her statement, she claimed.

MSR said that on March 16, 2021, she went to meet CM Arvind Kejriwal and their meeting lasted just 4-5 minutes. She also said this was her first and last meeting with the prime minister, she claimed.

Sunita Kejriwal mentioned that the day after this statement, his son was released on bail.

"It is clear that this statement by Magunta (Srinivasulu) Reddy is false. Magunta Reddy himself has said that this was the first and last meeting of her with CM Arvind Kejriwal and there were also 10-12 people sitting there.

"If someone had to ask someone for money, would they ask a stranger for money in front of 10 or 12 people at the first meeting?" he asked.

Appealing to people to share the video of her, the Delhi Chief Minister's wife alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wanted to "finish" Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party using the ED and CBI.

The BJP hit back at Sunita Kejriwal, saying she has "mastered the art of storytelling like her husband" and accused her of "slandering" the judiciary.

"It is shocking to see her maligning the judiciary as during her narration she repeatedly says that MS Reddy's son's bail was rejected when he gave a true statement and when he gave in to pressure and changed his statement, her son was granted the court will grant him bail," said Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva.

Kejriwal was arrested by the Education Department on March 21 in a money laundering case related to alleged irregularities in the excise policy 2021-22 scrapped by his government. He is currently in judicial custody after being arrested by the CBI.

The trial court had granted bail to Kejriwal on June 20 in the ED case, but on June 25, the Delhi High Court stayed the trial court's order.

He had mounted a fiery campaign in the Lok Sabha elections in Delhi against the BJP after his release from Tihar jail on interim bail on May 10, telling people it was a vote against his arrest, but it proved insufficient. as the BJP continued its winning streak. and he again won the seven seats in the national capital, although this time the margins of victory were smaller.
