New Delhi [India], The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Tuesday apprehended a 24-year-old man, who was traveling on a passport issued in the name of a 67-year-old man, at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. ,

According to CISF, on June 18 at around 5:20 pm, based on profiling and behavioral detection, CISF surveillance and intelligence personnel at IGI Airport stopped a passenger at the check-in area of ​​Terminal 3. On enquiry, he identified himself as Rashwinder Singh Sahota, date of birth, February 2, 1957, PP No. 438851 (Indian), who was traveling to Canada by Air Canada flight No. AC 043/STD at 2250 hrs.

However, upon checking his passport, discrepancies were noticed. His appearance, voice and skin texture appeared to be much younger than the description given in the passport. On closer inspection it was revealed that he had dyed his hair and beard white to look older and was wearing glasses.

Due to these suspicions, they were taken to a random check point in the departure area for a thorough search. During examination of his mobile phone, soft copy of another passport in the name of Guru Sewak Singh, date of birth 10 June 2000, passport number V4770942 was found.

On further questioning, the passenger admitted that his real name is Guru Sewak Singh and he is 24 years old, traveling on a passport issued in the name of Rashwinder Singh Sahota, 67 years old.

Since the case involved fake passport and impersonation, the passenger and his luggage were handed over to Delhi Police for legal action in the case.

Vigilance and intensive surveillance of CISF personnel was crucial in apprehending the individual and preventing possible misuse of travel documents.
