New Delhi, Delhi BJP leaders and workers protested here on Wednesday over Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's remarks against the saffron party and demanded an apology from him.

The protesters gathered near Jaisalmer House and tried to move towards the Congress headquarters on Akbar Road, raising slogans against Gandhi and his party.

Addressing the protesters, BJP Yuva Morcha national president Tejashwi Surya said this was not the time to make speeches but to "strongly protest against the insult to Hindu society".

"The way Rahul Gandhi accused the entire Hindu society of being violent is an unpardonable crime. Congress and Rahul Gandhi are repeat offenders and in the past, they had tried to create a fake narrative of saffron terrorism." He accused.

BJP MPs Manoj Tiwari and Bansuri Swaraj and other senior party leaders were present during the protest.

Taking aim at Rahul Gandhi, Tiwari said, "Those who insult Hindus need to be given a befitting reply." He said Hindu society is violent. He may even say that Hindus should be shot. "

Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva said that if Hindus were violent, a temple would have been built in Mathura by now.

"We will continue to protest until electoral Hindu Rahul Gandhi apologises," he said.

In his first speech as leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, Gandhi launched a no-holds-barred attack on the BJP, accusing it of inciting violence and spreading hatred, which was largely opposed by the ruling party, including Prime Minister Narendra . Modi.
