Kolkata: Trinamool Congress on Friday criticized the central government over the roof collapse incident at Delhi airport's Terminal 1 and alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's guarantee is "collapsing".

Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu announced that an inquiry has been ordered into the roof collapse incident that killed one person and injured six others.

Government sources said the roof collapse at Delhi airport's Terminal 1 (T1) was constructed during 2008-09 and the work was contracted by GMR to private contractors.

T1 has domestic flight operations only by IndiGo and SpiceJet. The airport – which has three terminals T1, T2 and T3 – handles a movement of approximately 1,400 flights daily.
