The Defense Secretary expressed his condolences and gave a strong message. "I express my deep sorrow over the death of five bravehearts in a terrorist attack in Badnota, Kathua and express my deepest condolences to the bereaved families. Their selfless service to the nation will always be remembered and their sacrifice will never be avenged." And India will lose. 'Kashmir Tigers', a shadow organization of Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), has claimed responsibility for the attack.

“I am deeply saddened by the death of five of our brave Indian soldiers in a terrorist attack in Badnota, Kathua (Jammu and Kashmir). My deepest condolences to the bereaved families, the nation stands strongly with them in this difficult time. Counter terrorist operations are underway, and our troops are committed to maintaining peace and order in the area. I pray for the speedy recovery of those injured in this cowardly terrorist attack," the minister said in his post on Twitter.
On Monday, a group of heavily armed terrorists ambushed a patrolling party in Badnota area of Kathua, killing five Army soldiers. A massive search operation has already been launched to find those responsible for the attack.
