New Delhi, Defense Accounts Department (DAD) of the Ministry of Defense has signed MoUs with four banks to include them as touch service centers in 1,128 branches of these banks in the country.

Pension Administration System (Defence) or SPARSH, is a web-based system to process pension claims and credit pension directly into the bank accounts of defense pensioners without any external intermediary.

The Defense Ministry said DAD has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bank of India, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India and Utkarsh Small Finance Bank in New Delhi to engage as touch service centers in 1,128 branches of the four banks. Have signed. a statement.

The MoU will provide last-mile connectivity to pensioners, especially in remote areas where they do not have the technical means to log on on touch.

These service centers will become a touch interface for pensioners, providing an effective medium to update their profile; File complaints; Digital Annual Identification; Apart from data verification, detailed information about their monthly pension will be obtained, the statement said.

It said that while access to these centers will be provided free of cost, nominal service charges will be borne by DAD.

With these MoUs, Sparsh services will now be available in over 26,000 branches of a total of 15 banks across the country. This is in addition to DAD's 199 dedicated service centers and over 3.75 lakh common service centers across the country, the statement said.

Sparsh is an initiative of the Ministry of Defense to provide comprehensive solutions to defense pensioners. It said this is a fundamental change in the management of defense pensions as it focuses on bringing efficiency, accountability and transparency.
