New Delhi, Senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram on Wednesday hit out at Defense Minister Rajnath Singh for supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'wealth redistribution' remark and said the Defense Minister should not lose his reputation by telling such 'blatant lies'. Dignity should not be reduced.

Chidambaram also asked Singh where there was any mention of redistribution of property to infiltrators in the Congress manifesto.

"I am disappointed that a sober politician like Shri Rajnath Singh should lie. The Economic Times reported his speech where he said that in the Congress manifesto it was mentioned that 'Congress will confiscate people's property and Will distribute it to the infiltrators. ,” Chidambaram said.

"I want to ask Shri Rajnath Singh, 'On which page of the Congress manifesto did you read that statement? Was Shri Rajnath Singh reading a document written by ghosts in invisible ink?' The former Union Minister said.

Chidambaram said the Defense Minister should not lower his dignity by telling such 'blatant lies'.

On Tuesday night, Chidambaram said, "The pathological fear of defeat has led BJP leaders to make outrageous allegations, and I feel sorry for them. What else can explain this bizarre claim that the Congress is against the Mangalsutra Stridhan and the temple? Will seize and redistribute assets.” Them?"

Even the most staunch supporter of the BJP would not believe these "meaningful statements", he said.

"I wonder what RSS leaders personally think about these statements," he said.

"It was the Congress government that initiated liberalisation, advocated a free and open economy and encouraged private enterprise. To accuse the Congress of being influenced by Maoist or Marxist ideology is beyond absurdity," he said in another post.
