This incident happened on Saturday afternoon in Sachin Pali village amid continuous rain for the last few days.

The residential building had 30 apartments and five were occupied.

Chief Fire Officer Basant Pareek said that the search operation continued throughout the night and seven bodies have been recovered.

Earlier, an officer had said that a woman has been rescued. He said the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) was at the scene along with emergency responders including police and fire department personnel.

A fire department official said many workers working in the night shift were sleeping in their rooms when the building collapsed.

“This building needed repairs but no one paid attention to it, which will be investigated.” For now, our focus is on saving people.” The building, despite being constructed relatively recently, was reportedly in poor condition and many of its flats were vacant.
