Thane: The dead body of a three-four month old child has been found in a drain in Thane district of Maharashtra. Police gave this information on Wednesday.
On Monday night, a passerby saw a child lying in a drain in Vitawa of Kalwa area.
Kalwa Police Station official said that after receiving the information, the police reached the spot and took the infant to the local hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
He said the police have registered a case against unknown persons under Indian Penal Code section 317 (abandonment and desertion of a child under 12 years of age by parent or guardian) and are investigating.
