The bodies were found on Thursday. The deceased were identified as Gulab Singh, 32, and his brother Dara Singh, 25, and were missing since Wednesday evening.

According to the information, he had gone to harvest maize crop from his field late on Wednesday evening. However, when both of them did not return home for a long time, his father Chavinath, and brothers Sanjay, Ashok and Karan conducted a thorough search, but to no avail. He also called several times on his mobile phone, but the call was not answered.

During the search, when the family looked with torchlight in a well located near their farm, the bodies of both the brothers were lying there.

On receiving the information, Superintendent of Police Vikas Kumar, Mohammadabad Area Officer Arun Kumar reached the spot along with the forensic team.

Later the bodies were taken out of the well. Two water bottles were also recovered from the well. An injury mark was found near Gulab Singh's left eye.

Apart from this, no direct injuries were found on the dead bodies. His father Chavinath has denied having any enmity with anyone in the village.

Based on Chavinath's complaint, the police have registered a case of murder against unknown people. The post mortem report of the dead bodies is awaited.
