The bodies of two girls were found in their house in Chajjala Kayani village of Mendhar sub-division of the district.
Officials said the children's father was first detained for questioning and later arrested.
Officials said that immediately after receiving information that bodies of two girls were lying in the house of Mohammad Khurshid of Chhajjala Keyani village, a team was sent to the village.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem. A board of doctors has been constituted to conduct the post-mortem and give a detailed report.
Doctors said that the bodies will be handed over to the police after the medico-legal formalities are completed.
