Chandigarh: Giving strict instructions to senior officers, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday said that if any officer is found involved in corrupt or illegal activity, the Deputy Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police of that district will be held responsible.

Mann also announced the opening of a 'Mukh Mantri Sahayata Kendra' (Chief Minister Assistance Centre) in each district to facilitate people to complete their work in a time bound manner.

The Chief Minister held a meeting with all the Deputy Commissioners of the state here on Monday.

Addressing the media after the meeting, Mann said that development work has been affected due to the Model Code of Conduct.

He said that due to the Lok Sabha elections, the Model Code of Conduct remained in force for more than two months.

Mann said that in the meeting he instructed the Deputy Commissioners to ensure completion of the pending works.

He also gave strict instructions to the Deputy Commissioners to ensure that no person faces any problem in getting their work done in government offices like Patwari in the district.

Mann said that complaints have been received from some places that corruption still continues at the lower level.

Being the Chief Minister, I gave strict instructions that if any officer in any district demands money or commission for any work and does illegal work, then the DC and SSP will be held responsible for it and action will be taken on that basis. ," He said.

Mann said, the person who comes to the Chief Minister Help Center will be sent to the concerned department regarding his work and this work will have to be done within a week or 10 days.

He also talked about setting up 'Chief Minister Dashboard' and said that by using artificial intelligence they will know about the functioning of government departments on real-time basis.
