New Delhi, Delhi Capitals on Thursday added Afghanistan all-rounder Gulbadin Naib to the squad as a replacement for Mitchell Marsh for the remainder of IPL 2024.

Naib has joined Capitals at his base price of Rs 50 lakh.

Marsh was ruled out of the IPL with a hamstring injury, and the Australian all-rounder returned to Perth on 12 April for a detailed medical check-up.

Marsh played four matches in this IPL, but was weak with both bat and ball, scoring just 61 runs and taking one wicket.

Naib has so far represented Afghanistan in 82 ODI and 65 T20 international matches.

A right-handed batsman and medium pace bowler, this will be his first stint in the IPL.
