New Delhi, The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Tuesday night announced that the Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG, scheduled for May 1, has been postponed for Delhi centers due to unavoidable reasons.

This is the third edition of the graduate entrance examination.

The exam will now be held on May 29 in Delhi and revised admit cards will be issued for the candidates. There are 258 centers for CUET-UG across the city.

“All concerned candidates and stakeholders are being informed that due to unavoidable reasons, the test papers (Chemistry – 306, Biology – 304, English – 101, and General Test – 501) which were earlier scheduled on 15th May 2024 were postponed, said NTA senior director Sai Sadhna Parashar, only for candidates appearing in centers across Delhi."The exams scheduled for May 15 will be held in all other cities across the country, including Gurugram, Ghaziabad, Faridabad and Noida, and exams are also scheduled at other centers abroad on other dates (May 16, 17 and 18) In Delhi, it will be held as per schedule,” Parashar said.

NTA had last month announced that the third edition of CUET-UG will be completed in seven days and there will be no normalization of scores as all the exams will be conducted in a single shift.

For 15 subjects the examination will be conducted in pen-paper mode and for other 4 subjects the examination will be conducted in computer based mode.

This year, more than 13.4 lakh candidates have registered for the Common Entrance Test for admission to undergraduate courses in 261 central, state, deemed private universities. In the first edition of the exam in 2022, the exam was plagued with technical glitches. Moreover, as a result of tests being conducted in multiple shifts for one subject, the scores had to be normalized during the declaration of results.
