Kannur (Kerala), Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas on Friday refuted the alleged claim that he, on behalf of CPI(M) leaders, had taken the initiative to settle the massive secretariat siege organized by the party a decade ago, in which the then It was the resignation of the Chief Minister. Speaking to reporters in Kottayam, he indicated that the outcome of the discussions was in line with the wishes of the then ruling front.However, he said that it was Brittas who contacted him using Cherian Philip's phone.

Philip claimed that the LDF started the siege of the secretariat after the insistence of veteran Marxist leader and former Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan.

Cherian, who is now in the Congress party, also said that it was Radhakrishnan who had approached Brittas through him to find a way to end the secretariat siege.

The LDF called off the siege of the secretariat after the then Chief Minister Chand announced a judicial inquiry.

The solar panel scam pertains to the alleged fraud of crores of rupees from several people by a woman and her partner offering solar panel solutions.The woman and her companion had reportedly established contacts with the Chief Minister's Office and some ministers of the UDF government.
