Hingoli administration in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra has appealed to the parents of students studying in Kyrgyzstan affected by the violence to contact the District Disaster Management Office for any problems.

Hingoli district administration said in a release on Tuesday that around 500 students from Maharashtra are pursuing medical education in Kyrgyzstan and there is a possibility that they may face problems due to the violence.

The Indian government on Saturday asked its students in Bishkek to stay indoors after mob violence targeting international students, especially those from South Asia, was reported in the Kyrgyz capital city.

The Hingoli administration has appealed to parents of students studying in Kyrgyzstan to contact the District Disaster Management Office if they are facing any problems, the release said.

It said that the local administration there (in Kyrgyzstan) has decided to conduct the examination of these students through online mode.

The release said that students can return to India next month.

Earlier, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had advised Indian students to be in regular touch with the Indian Embassy.

The Indian Embassy in Kyrgyzstan said it is in touch with the students and the situation is calm.
