The buildings will be built on the outskirts of 15 districts of the province at a cost of 167 million Afghani (about $2.36 million), Bakhtar news agency reported.

The report also said that the Afghan government will build a township for poor and homeless families in Daman district of southern Kandahar province, Xinhua news agency reported.

The Afghan caretaker government has launched a series of infrastructure projects, including the construction of water canals, highways and solar energy systems across the war-torn country to create employment opportunities and reduce poverty.
