New Delhi: The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has completed the construction of three bridges over Ghazipur drainage as part of comprehensive multi-modal integration at Anand Vihar RRTS station, officials said on Sunday.

The bridges form a key component of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor, and integration work at Anand Vihar station is nearing completion, they said.

The Anand Vihar RRTS station, strategically located in the Delhi section of the RRTS corridor, is now connected to the Anand Vihar Metro station and will offer passengers direct access to multiple modes of transport, officials said.

The construction of the three bridges, essential for access to the station, has already been completed and final touches are currently being carried out, they said.

At the concourse level, Anand Vihar RRTS station is connected to the blue and pink lines of Anand Vihar metro station. The ongoing flooring and finishing works are aimed at ensuring smooth flow of passengers between the two stations.

NCRTC has installed escalators and lifts to facilitate traffic, emphasizing convenience and accessibility, they said.

The newly constructed bridges over the Ghazipur drainage are instrumental in connecting the station with the main road. Finishing work includes building side walls and preparing carpets, they said.

Each bridge has a specific purpose: one for vehicle entry (10 meters wide, 28 meters long), another for vehicle exit (13 meters wide, 28 meters long) and a third for pedestrians (5 meters wide, 25 meters long). officials said.

Designed to provide seamless connectivity, Anand Vihar RRTS station aligns with the multi-modal integration plan, ensuring a superior travel experience for all passengers, including the elderly, women and children.

Once operational, passengers will move effortlessly between the metro station, Anand Vihar railway station, Anand Vihar ISBT, Kaushambi bus terminal and DTC intra-state bus terminal, they said.

Officials said the Anand Vihar underground RRTS station, which measures 297 meters long and 35 meters wide, was completed with significant engineering expertise despite construction challenges.

The concourse and platform levels are fully operational, with three elevators and five escalators installed to improve passenger movement. Additionally, installation of track and overhead equipment (OHE) is complete and finishing work is progressing steadily, officials said.

Two entry and exit gates are being constructed to facilitate passenger access, one towards Chaudhary Charan Singh Marg and the other towards Anand Vihar railway station.

The station's proximity to key transportation hubs ensures comprehensive connectivity: the blue and pink lines of the metro station are just 50 meters away, the ISBT is 150 meters away, the DTC intrastate bus terminal is 150 meters away, the ISBT Kaushambi is 100 meters away and the railway station is 200 meters away, officials said.

Currently, a foot over bridge (FOB) connects Chaudhary Charan Singh Marg to the metro complex, and lifts, stairs and escalators will be added to connect the RRTS station, further improving accessibility and comfort of passengers, they added.
