Chandigarh: Congress leader Charanjit Singh Channi on Tuesday won from Jalandhar Reserve Parliamentary Constituency by a margin of 1,75,993 votes, according to ECI.

Former Punjab Chief Minister Channi defeated BJP's Sushil Rinku.

Channi got 3.90 lakh votes, while his nearest rival Rinku got 2.14 lakh votes.

Aam Aadmi Party candidate Pawan Kumar Tinu stood third with 2.08 lakh votes, while Shiromani Akali Dal candidate Mohinder Singh Kaypi got 67,911 votes.

Counting of votes for 13 Lok Sabha seats of Punjab started at 8 am amid tight security arrangements.
