New Delhi, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva on Wednesday said the Congress manifesto includes "jihadi" and "appeasement" politics.

Addressing a press conference here, Sachdeva criticized the Congress, saying the party's manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections was aimed at "breaking the country".

"The Congress manifesto reeks of 'jihadi' thinking and appeasement politics. They have said that 'if we come to power, we will survey the country's wealth.' The jewelery of our mothers and daughters?” He said.

Asked whether the Congress wanted to "confiscate the property of mothers and sisters", Sachdeva said, "Is it a crime to belong to the majority Hindu community? Is it a crime to wear mangalsutra?"

Leader of opposition in MCD Raja Iqbal also addressed the press conference.

He criticized AAP for delaying the distribution of funds to purchase uniforms and books for students of MCD schools.

Iqbal accused AAP of corruption and said it had failed to effectively govern the city.

Responding to BJP's comment, AAP spokesperson and Delhi state secretary Reen Gupta said, "BJP's rule over MCD for 15 years created anarchy, plunging its schools into darkness. It will undoubtedly take time to emerge from such a dilapidated situation. First, the Kejriwal government transformed Delhi government schools into examples of excellence and it is committed to do the same for MCD schools."

He further said that "BJP should pay attention to the dire condition of schools in the states it rules, which lack essential infrastructure like buildings, toilets, classrooms".
