Bengaluru: Congress on Monday protested in Karnataka demanding the immediate arrest of Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, who is facing allegations of sexual exploitation of hundreds of women.

Congress workers along with a large number of women members took to the streets in Hubli, Hassan and other places including Bengaluru demanding action against the 33-year-old grandson of JD(S) chief and former Prime Minister H Deve. Gouda.



In Bengaluru, a protest was led by All India Mahila Congress president Alka Lamba outside the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee office.

Lamba said that the horrific case of sexual violence against hundreds of women has shocked the country.



He said, “Over 3,000 videos of MP Prajwal Revanna sexually assaulting, violating and even brutalizing hundreds of women over the years have shocked the conscience of Kannadigas and Indians alike.,

After several videos of Revanna allegedly sexually abusing women became public, Karnataka's Congress government on Sunday formed a special investigation team to probe the allegations against the Hassan MP and Lok Sabha election candidate.

Explicit video clips purportedly involving Prajwal began circulating in Hassan in recent days.

JD(S) had joined the NDA in September last year.

Prajwal Haasan is the NDA candidate from the Lok Sabha constituency, where voting was held on April 26.

According to police sources, as soon as the videos started surfacing, he fled the country after the voting ended.The Karnataka government initiated the SIT investigation after Women's Commission Chairperson Dr. Nagalakshmi Choudhary wrote to the government regarding Revanna's alleged sexual exploitation of hundreds of women.

The three-member SIT of IPS officers is headed by Additional Director General of Police (CID) Bijay Kumar Singh, while the other two members are Assistant Inspector General of Police Suman D Pennekar and Mysore Superintendent of Police Seema Latkar.SIT has been instructed to complete the investigation expeditiously.
