Kalaburagi (Karnataka), Senior BJP leader Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday predicted that the Congress government in Karnataka will fall due to its own contradictions after the Lok Sabha election results are out.

Claiming that there was "competition" between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D Shivakumar in the ruling party, the former CM also said that there could be a vertical split in the Congress at the national level after the election results. This may also affect the state government.

He said, “The Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister had given statements during the Lok Sabha elections. On one hand the Chief Minister said - If you do not vote for you (Congress) in large numbers then it will be difficult for me to continue.'' On the other hand, the Deputy CM said - You (people) voted for Congress thinking that the Chief Minister Will become, but you were disappointed and in the coming days I will become (CM),'' Bommai told reporters here.He further said, "None of the ministers contested the elections, rather they fielded their children. These are big indications that things are not right in this government, there are internal differences on many issues. There are lobbies, and a small There was a break." For elections, but they will start activity once again."

“The Congress government will fall due to its contradictions.More than anything else, it is certain that Narendra Modi will become Prime Minister for the third time, and that within a few months there will be a lot of changes in the All India Congress, it would not be surprising if there is a vertical split, and this will impact Karnataka. But it will also happen.”

The Siddaramaiah-led Congress government in Karnataka completed one year in office on Monday.

Responding to a question, Bommai said that BJP has no agenda and the party will only wait and see the developments.

"Disagreements are natural in any government, no government is without differences, but here there is not just difference of opinion, there is competition here. One person is trying to become the Chief Minister, while the other is not. No one wants to leave the post of CM. Are.This competition between personalities has resulted in major political implications in the past in the history of Karnataka."

Despite Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar denying any differences, BJP and JD(S) leaders in the state have predicted the fall of the Congress government after the Lok Sabha elections.

Amid persistent rumors of a change of leadership in the ruling party in the state after the Lok Sabha elections or in the middle of the tenure of the current assembly, leaders of both the opposition parties are hinting at a possible power struggle within the Congress.

After the declaration of assembly election results in May last year, there was a tough competition between Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar for the post of CM, Congress managed to persuade him and made him the Deputy Chief Minister.

There were some reports at the time that an agreement had been reached based on the "rotating chief ministerial formula", according to which Shivakumar would become the CM after two and a half years, but this has not been officially confirmed by the party.Shivakumar has made no secret of his ambition to become chief minister, while Siddaramaiah had sought public support during the Lok Sabha elections so that the Congress could win as many seats as possible in the state, thereby strengthening his position.
