Voting is being held in Kerala on Friday to elect 20 new Lok Sabha members.

Congress candidate and three-time MP from Pathanamthitta Lok Sabha seat Anto Antony on Wednesday alleged after the list reached several people that it was the work of a CPI(M)-backed organisation.

“This is a serious issue as this list should come out only in the morning when the election officials reach the designated place in the district. Anto Antony said, "Left organizations want to create trouble in the district, which will help their supporters cast their votes at many places."

Antony and his supporters sat on a dharna in front of the district authorities on Thursday morning and said that they would leave only after action is taken against the wrongdoers.

Based on the complaint, the district collector suspended one officer, Yadu Krishnan, an upper division clerk, after a preliminary inquiry.

It is understood that Krishnan had forwarded this message instead of some other files and it was an error.

"Now things have become clear that wrong has happened and it cannot be done by just one officer, because there are others too," Antony said.

Meanwhile, CPI(M)-led Left candidate Thomas Isaac dismissed all these allegations as baseless as Antony has realized his defeat and hence these excuses are being made.

Both are facing off against BJP-led NDA candidate Anil Antony, who is a rival to former defense minister and Congress leader A.K. Is the son of. Antony.
