Gurugram, Congress candidate from Karnal Lok Sabha seat Divyanshu Budhiraja was granted bail on Monday after appearing before a city court in the case registered against him for blocking a road in March 2023, police said.

He told that the court has granted him bail on a bond of Rs 50 thousand. He said an FIR was lodged against 11 accused, including Budhiraja, at Khedki Daula police station after Youth Congress workers blocked the Delhi-Jaipur highway to protest against Rahul Gandhi's disqualification from the Lok Sabha.

"The court had issued a notice to Budhiraja. He appeared in the court of Judicial Magistrate First Class Rashmeet Kau at around 10 am today and got bail on a surety bond of Rs 50,000," he said.

Budhiraja told journalists that the Manohar Lal Khattar government in Haryana has registered five cases against him, but he is not going to bow down.

He said, "Now the people of Karnal will respond to this dictatorship."

Police said that after the complaint of ASI Yogendra Kumar, an FIR was registered against the accused at Khedki Daula police station under sections 147 (rioting), 283 (obstructing public way), 34 (wrongful confinement) of IPC. Went.
