Agartala (Tripura) [India], In a significant development, allegations of electoral malpractices have emerged from Tripura, where Congress leaders have accused the ruling party of undemocratic practices during the recent elections, said Sudeep, permanent invitee member of the Congress Working Committee. Roy Barman (CWC) and MLA have raised concerns about irregularities in West Tripura Lok Sabha constituency and 7-Ramnagar Assembly by-election, Barman said, "A large number of voters were prevented from casting their votes, polling agents of the opposition were were either expelled or barred from entering the booths, and cases of fraudulent voting were reported. The allegations are further strengthened by discrepancies in the voting percentage released by the Election Commission, in which some booths were allegedly registered. Following these claims, a delegation of Congress leaders met the Election Commissioner in Delhi demanding a thorough investigation and re-polling in the affected areas. The delegation included Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Shukla. Prominent Congress leaders like social media chairman Supriya Shrinet and state Congress president Ashish Kumar Saha were included.Congress has submitted a formal letter calling for re-polling in Wes Tripura Lok Sabha seat and to restore confidence in the electoral process in 7-Ramnagar assembly constituency. The delegation stressed the need for immediate action to ensure transparency and fairness in the electoral process. The Election Commission has not yet responded to the allegations and the demand for re-poll. The situation remains tense as political parties await further developments. The incident has highlighted ongoing concerns about election integrity in various parts of the country, leading to calls for more stringent monitoring and reforms to the voting process.
