Jodhpur, Union Minister and BJP candidate Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has claimed that he got a budget of thousands of crores of rupees sanctioned from the Center for water works in Rajasthan, but the previous Congress government in the state failed to utilize it.

Rejecting Congress candidate Karan Singh Uchiarda's alleged comment that he could not bring water to the area despite being the Jal Shakti Minister, the BJP leader said he was saddened by its support by BJP workers.

He alleged that former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot wanted to get him arrested somehow by implicating him in some case or the other.

He said, "Just two days before the assembly elections, Ashok Gehlot was trying to send me to jail, but it was your blessings and good wishes that he could not harm me."

He said, “Ashok Gehlot was constantly after me. I also fought hard, but now if my people start speaking their language then who will protect me? That's why I'm sharing these thoughts with you today.

The minister assured the local people that work would be done on war footing on all fronts, including water works, under the leadership of the BJP government in the state.
