Mumbai, Music director and producer Vipin Reshammiya, father of singer-composer Himesh Reshammiya, has passed away at the age of 88.
According to reports, the veteran music director was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on Wednesday night due to breathing and age-related problems.
In a media statement issued by the family, close friend Anup Singh said that Vipin Reshammiya passed away on Wednesday.
“It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mr. Vipin Reshammiya peacefully on 18th September 2024.
"A kind soul with a heart full of love, his presence brightened the lives of all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, wisdom, fond memories and timeless music," the statement said.
The last rites will be held today at 11.30 am at Oshiwara cremation ground.
Vipin Reshammiya composed the music for the 1988 film "Insaaf Ki Jung", and produced films like "The Expose", "Tera Surroor" – both starring his son Himesh Reshammiya.
