New Delhi [India], Commercial flight operations from Noida International Airport are expected to begin by the end of April 2025, the Noida International Airport Authority said on Monday.
The authority also mentioned that the airport construction work is at an advanced stage, and the next few weeks are crucial to continue moving forward.
"Construction and development work at Noida International Airport is at an advanced stage and we continue to pass important milestones on the path to operational readiness. This is a large and complex project, and the next few weeks of construction activities are crucial "said the airport authority.
Construction of the runway, passenger terminal and control tower is well advanced. Contracts were recently awarded for ground handling services, commercial area operations and major maintenance services.
Additionally, agreements have been signed with several airlines for air connections from Noida International Airport.
The authority highlighted its collaboration with contractor Tata Projects Limited and other stakeholders to maintain the momentum of construction activities and gear up for operational readiness.
After construction, Noida International Airport will connect metropolitan Delhi and western Uttar Pradesh with other cities in India and the world. The airport aims to combine Swiss efficiency with Indian hospitality, offering rich experiences and attractions and comprehensive business services to passengers.
It will be the first airport of its kind in India to achieve net zero emissions, setting a new standard for sustainable airport operations.
At its inauguration, the airport will have a runway and a terminal, with the capacity to serve 12 million passengers. Future phases of development will allow for further expansion. Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL) was established for the development, construction and operation of this greenfield project, Noida International Airport.
Delhi airport, the busiest in India, receives approximately 1,200 flights a day. Noida airport is expected to start operations with 65 flights daily.
