Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Uttar Pradesh government is all set to organize Road Safety Fortnight in UP from 22nd April to 4th May. As per the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Transport Department will organize Road Safety Fortnight. The state government notified that as part of its efforts to reduce ROA accidents by 50 per cent, Road Safety Fortnight will be observed in all districts with inter-departmental coordination from April 22 to May 4. And with drunk driving being the leading cause of road accidents, raising awareness is considered paramount to prevent road accidents. During the fortnight, the fitness of all school vehicles in the state will be checked, as well as the medical fitness of the vehicle drivers.During prayer meetings in all educational institutions, students will be given information about road safety and traffic rules and the oath of road safety will be administered. Apart from this, health card will be mandatory for commercial drivers. Overloading at source points will be strictly prohibited by the task force. Apart from this, the Transport Department will ensure strict compliance of the orders issued from time to time to reduce road accidents. Many lives can be saved in this way. Apart from this, instructions have been given that meetings of all divisional and district level road safety committees should be organized compulsorily. For this, all Divisional Commissioners and District Magistrates have been asked to decide the day.Public representatives will also be invited and their suggestions regarding road accidents will be taken in the meeting. Apart from this, subject experts and representatives of voluntary organizations will also be invited to the meeting. ROA accidents will be analyzed in the committee meeting and action will be taken accordingly. If a driver is issued more than three consecutive challans, his license will be cancelled. Despite this, if they continue to violate the rules, their vehicle registration will be cancelled.Apart from this, regular inspection of critical care facilities available in the district will also be done so that the persons affected by ROA accidents can get treatment within the district itself. Aapda Mitras have also been trained to rescue persons injured in road accidents.Arrangements will be made to inform them in case of a road accident.
