In view of the ongoing general elections, the Supreme Court had ordered the release of Kejriwal on interim bail till June 1.

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court registry had refused to accept his application seeking seven-day extension of interim bail to undergo medical examinations including PET-CT scan.

The SC registry said the apex court has already reserved its judgment in the case and the application seeking 7 days' extension has no connection with the main petition.

It said that since the Supreme Court had allowed him to approach the lower court to obtain regular bail, his application is not maintainable.

According to Aam Aadmi Party, CM Kejriwal's health has deteriorated after his arrest in the alleged Delhi Excise scam.

The party has said that after his arrest his weight has lost 7 kg and his ketone levels are also very high which indicates a serious medical disorder.

The party has further said that the CM needed seven days' time to get the medical test done.

Earlier, the top court had directed him to surrender back in Tihar jail on June 2.

The apex court had on May 17 reserved its verdict on CM Kejriwal's plea challenging his arrest and subsequent remand by the federal anti-money laundering agency in the excise policy case.

It said that despite the fact that the apex court has reserved judgment in the case, he can approach the trial court for regular bail.
