Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday met the family of Major Pranay Negi at his residence in Doiwala and expressed condolences and consoled the family.

The Chief Minister paid tribute to Major Pranay Negi by offering flowers on his portrait. The Chief Minister said, "We are proud of the bravery of our martyred soldiers."

Negi breathed his last on April 30, 2024, while protecting the country's borders.

He belonged to the Artillery Regiment and was posted in the high altitude area of ​​Kargil sector.

Earlier, Dhami on Thursday approved the scholarship amount under the Educational Assistance (Scholarship) Scheme to the Dependents of Ex-Servicemen.

The Chief Minister has sanctioned an amount of Rs 11 lakh, 06 thousand to 91 students under the Educational Assistance (Scholarship) Scheme for the dependents of ex-servicemen of Uttarakhand state to get engineering, medical and PhD education.

Under the scholarship approved for the financial year 2023-24, the Chief Minister has sanctioned an amount of Rs 9,96,000 to 83 engineering students, Rs 90,000 to 6 medical students and Rs 20,000 to 2 PhD students.

Along with this, the Chief Minister has also approved a sum of Rs 9 crore 89 lakh for the construction work of car parking at Reeth Sahib in Champawat district.
