In Nellore (Andhra Pradesh), YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday accused Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of creating fear psychosis among people who did not vote for him.

The former chief minister also alleged that people who did not vote for Naidu's TDP were being attacked across the state with destruction of their assets, besides physical attacks and false cases.

"Across the state, just because some people did not vote for TDP and Naidu, their assets are being destroyed and false cases are being filed. They (ruling party cadres) are beating up their opponents (YSRCP supporters) and filing cases against the victims," Jagan Mohan Reddy told reporters outside the Nellore central jail.

Reddy met YSRCP leader P Ramakrishna Reddy at the central prison.

Ramakrishna Reddy is in jail for allegedly attacking a police inspector in Karampudi village on May 14. He was also booked for vandalizing an EVM in Macherla Assembly constituency on election day (May 13).

Furthermore, opposition leader YSRCP alleged that statues of late YS Rajasekhar Reddy were being damaged.

Pointing out that the politics of creating a fear psychosis will not take the TDP very far in the long run, Reddy compared the current state government with the erstwhile YSRCP regime he had led and asserted that his government did not discriminate against anyone. .

Reddy claimed that "YSRCP lost after doing good to the people. They lost because of Naidu's misleading promises. People got carried away..." he added.

Instead of allegedly focusing on creating a fear psychosis, Reddy advised Naidu to focus on fulfilling the promises he made to the people in the run-up to the elections.

The YSRCP supremo alleged that Ramakrishna Reddy was jailed "unfairly" and claimed that a case of attempt to murder had also been filed against the former Macherla MLA.

In the case of the destruction of the EVM by his party leader, Jagan Mohan Reddy claimed that Ramakrishna Reddy broke the machine because an "injustice" was being done at that polling station.

On May 13, Ramakrishna Reddy broke into a polling station in the constituency and smashed an EVM on the ground and was caught on camera doing so.

Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged that Ramakrishna Reddy was forced to break the EVM because the police were not responding to his calls about a sensitive polling booth that was supposedly manned by a single local guard.
