New Delhi, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) officials on Monday announced that supplementary examinations for classes 10 and 12 will be conducted from July 15.

More than 1.32 lakh candidates in Class 10 have been placed in the supplementary category O compartment, while the number of such candidates in Class 12 is more than 1.22 lakh.

Based on the recommendations of the National Education Policy, 2020, CBSE last year renamed compartment exams as supplementary exams.

According to CBSE controller of examinations Sanyam Bhardwaj, Class 12 students will be allowed to improve their performance in one subject in the supplementary examination and Class 10 students will be allowed to improve their performance in two subjects in the supplementary examination.

“Three categories of students will be eligible to appear in the supplementary examinations – Class 10 students who could not pass in two subjects and Class 12 students who could not pass in one subject and were placed in the compartment category.” Those who were declared passed in the sixth or seventh subject and students of class 10 and 12 who were declared passed but want to improve their performance in two and one subject respectively,” Bhardwaj said. ,
