New Delhi: CISF constable Kulwinder Kaur, who allegedly slapped actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut at the Chandigarh airport last month, has been transferred to a unit in Bengaluru pending a disciplinary inquiry, official sources said on Wednesday.

Kaur was suspended by the Central Armed Police Forces soon after the alleged incident on June 6 when the newly elected MP was traveling to Delhi. A police FIR was also registered against the constable on the complaint of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

Sources said Kaur is under suspension and has been posted to the 10th Reserve Battalion based in the Karnataka capital pending a disciplinary inquiry.

He said he was transferred to the unit immediately after the incident in the appropriate interest of the ongoing investigation.

Sources said a senior commandant-rank officer is investigating and the statements of the constable, his colleagues present at the airport that day, the shift in-charge and some airline officials are being recorded.

He said that the investigation will take some time, after which an appropriate decision will be taken.

Kaur, a resident of Punjab's Kapurthala district, joined the CISF in 2009 and is with its aviation security group at Chandigarh airport since 2021.

No vigilance inquiry or punishment has been given against him in the force so far. Her husband was also posted at Chandigarh Airport.

Kaur was apparently angry with Ranaut over her stance on the farmers' protests taking place in the country.

38-year-old Ranaut was elected to the Lok Sabha from Mandi seat in Himachal Pradesh.
