Jaipur: The Chhattisgarh government has given permission to use 91.21 hectare forest land of Parsa Purva and Kanta Basan (PEKB) coal block to supply coal to power plants in Rajasthan, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said on Friday.

Thanking Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai for this, his Rajasthan counterpart said that his government is making continuous efforts to ensure uninterrupted power supply in line with the resolve of 'Apna Aavani Rajasthan'.

"Government of Rajasthan is committed to ensure uninterrupted power supply. On behalf of the entire Rajasthan family, I congratulate the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Vishnu Dev Sai, for granting permission to use 91.21 hectares of forest land of Parsa Purva and Kanta Basan (PEKB) by the Government of Chhattisgarh. Hearty thanks to the coal blocks operating in Hasdeo Aranya Coal Field for supplying coal to the power plants of Rajasthan,” Sharma posted on Twitter.

This decision of the Chhattisgarh government will go a long way in ensuring the supply of coal to thermal power projects of 4,340 MW capacity in the state.
