New Delhi, Uttarakhand government's eSwasthya Dham portal is now integrated with the Centre's Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), allowing 'Char Dham' pilgrims to seamlessly create their digital national health accounts, the central government said Thursday.

The creation of Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) as part of ABDM will establish a strong and trusted identity for devotees that will help manage their medical records digitally. This will also ensure immediate intervention for citizens in times of emergency.

ABDM was launched in September 2021 to create an integrated digital health infrastructure for the country. The eSwasthya Dham portal was launched by the health and family welfare department of the Uttarakhand government.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Health, the eSwasthya Dham portal helps in monitoring the health parameters of Char Dham pilgrims. As a result, it ensures smooth travel of pilgrims visiting Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath, he said.

The eSwasthya Dham portal offers a variety of benefits to the pilgrims and one of them is generation of ABHA. Pilgrims can easily create their 14-digit ABHA number on the eSwasthya Dham portal in just two minutes, the statement added.

With the number of pilgrims increasing, this platform ensures that their health is given top priority for a safe and hassle-free journey, especially for senior citizens.

Char Dham shrines are located at higher altitudes, so it is important to keep track of health ailments related to higher altitudes, such as heart disease, hypertension and respiratory diseases and diabetes, among others, due to the cold climate and low oxygen levels, according to the statement.

The creation of ABHA as part of ABDM will establish a strong and trusted identity for devotees that will help manage their medical records digitally. This will also ensure immediate intervention for citizens in times of emergency.

Till date, more than 65 crore ABHAs have already been created, the statement said.

ABHA offers several benefits to citizens, including secure storage and management of their medical records, he said.

It also allows them to share their medical records securely with doctors anytime, anywhere. Through ABHA, citizens can avail various digital health benefits, from avoiding long queues at healthcare centers for registration to facilitating medical appointments, the statement said.

Citizens can log in at https://eswasthyadham.uk.gov.in/login to avail the benefits of this portal by generating their ABHA and learn more about the rules of the yatra. Helpline number 104 has also been created to help pilgrims.
