Chandigarh: According to the Election Commission, in the initial trends, Congress leader Charanjit Singh Channi is leading over his nearest rival and BJP candidate Sushil Rinku in Jalandhar Reserve Parliamentary Constituency.

The former Punjab Chief Minister is leading over sitting MP Rinku by 38,642 votes.

Counting of votes for 13 Lok Sabha seats of Punjab started at 8 am amid tight security arrangements.
