New Delhi: The weather office said there is a possibility of heavy rain in the national capital on Tuesday.

There will be rain with thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature in the city was recorded at 30.7 degrees Celsius, which is 2.8 degrees above normal.

Humidity was recorded at 76 percent at 8.30 am.

Delhi is on orange alert on Tuesday, which means "be prepared" in IMD color code.

The maximum temperature is likely to be around 33 degrees Celsius.

According to the IMD, heavy rain is defined as rainfall between 64.5 and 124.4 mm in a day.
