New Delhi: A cervical cancer screening camp was organized in Central Jai No. 06 in which 265 prisoners above 35 years of age participated, an official statement on Monday said.

The screening camp was organized by Delhi Jail in collaboration with AIIMS and Savera Foundation Trust on May 18.

According to the statement, the event was attended by Director General (Prisons) Satish Golcha along with an eminent team of doctors from AIIMS.

Highlighting the importance of continuous efforts to facilitate timely diagnosis, treatment and management of preventable diseases among inmates, Golcha said that this camp demonstrates the commitment of Delhi Prisons and it is a step towards ensuring the health and welfare of the inmates.
