New Delhi, Union Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh will launch a special drive here on Monday for effective redressal of grievances of family pensioners.

Currently, around 90,000 cases are being registered in an online Centralized Pension Complaints and Redressal System (CPENGRAMS) in a year, a statement issued by the Personnel Ministry said on Sunday.

Of the total complaints, family pension complaint cases account for 20 to 25 percent, he said. An important segment of the complaints of family pensioners is made up of female pensioners, according to the statement.

Most of the complaints concern defense, railway and CAPF pensioners of the Union Home Ministry, he said, adding that "bank-related issues also constitute a considerable number."

The Department of Pension and Pensioners Welfare (DOPPW), as part of its 100-day action plan, will carry out a month-long special campaign for effective redressal of grievances of family pensioners during the period of the July 1 to 31, 2024 in which 46 ministries will participate. /departments will participate, according to the statement.

This special campaign seeks a substantial reduction in the processing of family pension grievances.

Secretaries of Departments of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare, Ex-servicemen Welfare, Director General of Border Security Force, Comptroller General of Accounts, Deputy Director General of State Bank of India along with 46 grievance nodal civil servants ministries/departments, representatives of all pensions Paying banks and representatives of pensioner welfare associations will participate in this event, he stated.

Complaints can be registered directly or on the portal www.pgportal.gov.in/PENSION/ by the applicant or by DOPPW on receipt of details via email, post or toll-free number 1800-11-1960.

The family pension related grievances to be redressed in the special campaign have been shortlisted from the grievances registered on the CPENGRAMS portal.

A total of 1,891 (as of June 15, 2024) complaints related to family pensions belonging to 46 ministries/departments/organizations have been identified for redressal during the campaign period, according to the statement.

DOPPW will monitor and provide all assistance to the concerned ministry/department/administrative organization for effective grievance redressal in a mission mode approach.
