The Labor Ministry on Wednesday said that Section 5 of the Equal Remuneration Act, 1976 clearly states that there should be no discrimination in the recruitment of male and female workers.

Since the Government of Tamil Nadu is the appropriate authority to enforce and administer the provisions of this Act, a report has been sought from the State Government.
