The project has been approved under the Pradhan Mantri Tribal Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) and aims to provide better connectivity in rural areas and accelerate economic growth in the North-Eastern region.

This historic initiative will provide all-weather road connectivity to 47 Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) settlements in the state.

The objective of the scheme is to improve the socio-economic status of the tribal population and bridge the connectivity gap between remote villages and urban centres.

The ministry said better connectivity will result in economic growth, trade and commerce in the region and better access to essential services such as health care, education and markets.
