Speaking to reporters at Vidhana Soudha, CM Siddaramaiah said that BJP lacks issues and works at the behest of RSS.

“Should we not raise the question whether plots have been created and distributed on our 3.16 acres of land? In such a situation, the value of our land is Rs 62 crore, they should give it back to us. The officials agreed to the encroachment of our land in the official meeting and gave sites under the 50:50 scheme. We agreed to this and have not asked them to provide the site at any specific location,” CM Siddaramaiah underlined.

CM Siddaramaiah said, “When the sites were given in 2021, BJP was in power in the state. Then they had made the allotment and now they are claiming that it is against the law.

“We had not asked for sites for Phase III or IV of Vijayanagara in Mysuru city. We had asked for sites to be made available to us under the 50:50 scheme. The allegations are just political.”

When asked about the rules for allotment of sites in the area where land has been acquired, CM Siddaramaiah said, “We have not asked for sites at specific locations. If the allotment of sites at a specific location is considered wrong, let them compensate us.

“In October 2023, the concerned minister gave a written note that the allocation of sites under the 50:50 scheme should be cancelled. If it has not been mentioned by the minister, then let the authorities give us Rs 62 crore as per law,” he stressed.

“The value of the allotted sites is less than this amount. An acre of land is 44,000 square feet and we were allotted 38,264 square feet. I do not know the value of the compensation land allotted. Let them give Rs 62 crore,” the CM underlined.

Karnataka BJP on Thursday demanded the resignation of CM Siddaramaiah over alleged irregularities in MUDA.
